Horse Play - Equine
Body & Mind

Pain is a major factor inhibiting horse performance (and willingness to
perform). Saddle pain, muscle tightness, unbalanced feet and chronic
muscle injury can all contribute to a horse that is resistant and unhappy.
Finding and relieving this pain can change the horse's wellbeing, attitude,
performance and your relationship.
Equine Massage
Equine Massage Services Include:
 |
Assessment. Palpation
techniques are first used to detect areas of heat, soreness or muscle spasm.
A full report is completed both during assessment and during the treatment
(when further areas may be discovered as the muscle is worked) so even if
you can't be there in person you know what treatment your horse received. |
 |
Relaxation Massage improves
blood circulation and assists muscle stretching and relaxation after hard
work. |
 |
Deep Tissue Massage improves
blood circulation, releases trigger and stress points and eases muscle
tension and spasms. Can assist rehabilitation of injuries* or recovery
from intense activity. *Acute injury should
not be treated with massage as it may damage muscles already under stress or
cause bleeding in bruised or damaged muscles. A vet should always be
called for acute injury. |
 |
If required I can also work
on desensitising your horse if he is resistant to being touched in certain
areas. This can help horses that are difficult
to handle or have fear issues around certain parts of their body.
Behavioural Training can help your horse to cope with the dentist, farrier,
clipping etc without sedation

Stretching and
rehabilitation. Correct stretching is important for correct body
function and can relieve pain from pinched nerves or muscle spasms.
Gentle rehabilitation exercises are often helpful for recovery from injury
or soreness. |
