Address: Papanui Farms, Karaka Road.  Whenuapai. Auckland

Go down Brighams Creek Road, and then down Totara Road for about a mile, turn right up Karaka Road.

It is recommended that you bring your own helmet and suitable footwear, although a helmet can be provided if necessary.

Heather has full stable facilities, well-stocked tackrooms, and two arenas.
There is a full sized arena, as well as a 20m round arena. A mounting block is situated in the stable block as well as by the round arena. Jumps are available when this level has been reached.

All lessons are private and are an hour long, Priced at:
          $30.00
          $10.00 Practice session
          $7.00 arena hire

All the horses used in lessons are well bred, with the training done by Heather herself. Her main teaching horse has done very well in horse trials in the past, and has taught many people to ride.

Heather is a bit of a stickler for riding correctly right from the start, but is very good at explaining what results she is looking for and how to achieve it.

The first lesson is usually done on a lunge, where Heather will very quickly assess the level you are at and correct any mistakes i.e. rider position.

Since they are all private lessons, there is no waiting around while the instructor deals with someone else so you always get a full hour of tuition. If necessary many of the lessons can be done on the lunge, until the rider feels more confident and gains more skills.

When an adequate level of competency has been reached then lessons can be extended to woodhill forest.

If you are look at seriously learning to ride and want to learn correctly, then this is the place to go and learn.
