The
show hack should be beautiful with much eye appeal. Beauty alone is not
enough for a successful top show hack, they must also perform the
movements asked in a bright forward going manner. A mistake or two can be
forgiven, bad manners, unsoundness and misbehaving must be penalized. In Hand Showing In Hand simply means that the horse is lead rather than ridden. Depending on the breed or class requirements this may either be in a halter, full bridle or special in-hand bridle while the handler must also dress to a set of rules. Ridden Classes Hunter Classes are shown at a walk, trot, canter and full gallop both ways of the ring. Hunters are also required to jump. Show Hacks are flashy, brilliant, animated. Show Hacks are very quick to respond to the Riderīs commands. Collection & extension are called for in all 3 gaits. Usually being beautiful helps.
