Horseball
HorseballHorseball is a horseback contact sport resembling a cross between rugby and basketball on horses.  The ball is the same size as a soccer ball with leather loops sewn to it to use as handhold.  The teams are made up of 4 players each.  The ball must be thrown from player to player and can be grabbed from an opposition player.

If the ball is dropped it must be picked up without dismounting and the stirrups are tied together under the horse's belly to make it easier for the rider to reach down.  A goal is scored by throwing the ball through a suspended hoop.  Horseball is played indoors or outdoors and its greatest advantage is that the equipment is cheap and easy to make and can be played by almost anyone.  Learn more about Horseball @ The British Horseball Association >
